Spie batignolles was the first French construction company to adopt a Zero Accident policy on its sites, and has since adopted a series of new flagship commitments enshrined in its Occupational Health and Quality of Life Plan.
Our challenges are to prevent risks and improve the working conditions of our people to achieve maximum safety.
Spie batignolles priorities
The Zero Accident commitment
To train our people in safe working practices and to encourage the exchange of good practices by organising regular meetings (called Les Minutes Spie batignolles) involving all on-site personnel.
Musculoskeletal problems in the workplace
We provide regular awareness-raising information for on-site personnel regarding the correct movements and postures to adopt in order to avoid musculoskeletal problems, which are the prime cause of workplace ill health in the construction industry.
Controlling chemical risks
We encourage the use of products that are less damaging to health, and always inform our people about the conditions governing the use of chemicals.
Eco-friendly driving and road safety
We use videoconferencing and conference calls to minimise the amount of travel undertaken by our people as part of avoiding road accidents.
Workplace stress
We are committed to early-stage detection of potential workplace stress situations by making management teams aware of the issues involved.
Maintaining people in employment
We aim to prevent the risks posed by unfitness for a particular job by encouraging retraining and retaining those who become unfit for the jobs they do.
